Hi. Checking with a couple of em---'68 red/red, conv ,427/435, 4 sp, two tops, no power options. ----'68 427/390, white/gun metal, p/w, p/b, tele, two tops, p/s, very early car (246). Have had a couple of others through the years. Never had a Vette when I lived in "Yipsi", but did the Woodward back in '69-'72 (maybe before you were a "glint"?) We are out here; just because the world is getting smaller doesn't mean that we are not too far away to make every regional event. STW, G.

Hi. I'm also new to the forum.

427/400hp Corvette Bronze checking in from Denver. I've been a C5 owner in the past but there is nothing better than the rumble of an old big block!

Doesn't seem to be many 68s around here (although I'm new to the area). However, 69-72's are regularly on dealer lots.

I noticed that, too. I wanted a 69 when I was in the market for a C3, but after getting my 68, I'm glad I didnt. I think the 68 unique features do a good job of setting it apart from other C3s.

I took mine to shows for a few summers, but when more and more moms with baby carraiges started walking in between and around the cars, I decided it was more fun to drive rather than sit and worry about dings and chips. So I cruise by the local cruise-ins and then go for a long drive. To each his own.

When I told a dealer I was looking for a '68 he said that he avoided selling them because its a first year car. I don't really buy that argument. These cars are 36 years old. I would think any minor glitches would have corrected by past owners. Of course, he was pushing for me to buy a '69 on his lot which may have influenced his comments.

Besides, I've already learned that the model year of a car isn't an indication of reliabilty. The most unreliable car I've ever owned was a '00 C5. I bought it new, never raced/abused it but yet it seemed to constantly have one problem or another. I don't think that one will still be on the road in 30 years!
