thanks for the positive replies./ for one thing i dont plan on doing this anytime soon, I don't even have a vette yet, I jsut think it would be really cool and want to know what it would take. as for the peaople talking about all the variables of drag racing, it will be a street car, probably slicks for the track, but mostly a street car. Im thinking keisler 6 speed with 3.70 rear end. thanks for the answers

For what's it's worth, (fairly) stock LS5 454 will bark the 255 rear tires in all four gears. More than once, i've lit 'em up passing someone going from 3d the 4th, probably about 50 mph or so. Never on purpose, though. Neat to say you can, but stepping the rear end out at speed is NO FUN.
