catalytic conv test pipe

Anybody know where I can get a cat test pipe for my 79???

Ebay is where I got mine last winter.

I read they were trying block the selling of such devices. Try there.

NAPA used to sell them
It might be easier to buy the pipe & adapters & make your own

NAPA sells a universal Cat Converter with an installation kit seperate.
Buy the Install kit so you have the right fittings & buy the correct size pipe to replace the cat!

Auto zone has lots of short pieces of exh pipe, and you can rent a pipe expander there also.

I made my own by making a fixture out of 1"x 6" wood and cutting the flanges off my old CC. Took it to a exhaust shop and ask them to bend and weld a 2 1/2" pipe between the two flanges mounted on the wood fixture. Fit like a glove, cost $10

What a piece of garbage that one is. Look at the bend in it, it loses 20-30 of its I.D. I would continue the search for a mandrel bent pipe or just use a hollowed out converter for your "testing".
