Lars' Latest Project: Pics
OKay, so it's not a Vette...
Here is the first picture of the project I've been working on for a while. All the pieces are now ready for assembly, and goal is to have a rolling car by Christmas.
It's a '69 Camaro RS Coupe. I finished the engine (background) not long agao, and I just got the frame and all pieces back from the powdercoating process. Final assembly of the suspension/steering system will happen this week, and then the engine/tranny gets loaded into the frame. Following week I should be mating the body to the subframe (all body work is complete) and going into the final assembly process. Photo is taken in the workshop area of my garage.
Very nice work, Lars (as usual)! '69 Camaros are a big favorite of mine, too. I've always thought the RS option took the great styling of the base car and made it one of the best looking cars ever.
I sold my '69 302 Z-28 to a good friend of mine to take on my '68 Big block Vette resto. There's been many times when I questioned whether or not I did the right thing, but I wanted a big block 'vert. He's been doing a frame off resto on it as well and we've been progressing at comparable rates. Very slow but sure. We will probably be finished at the about the same time--next spring.

I'll post up some pics as the car progresses....

A few of you asked what color the car is going to be: The car is black, and it's going to be ghost-flamed in a ghost color that takes on a slight purple hue when the light hits the ghost flames just right...
Nice job there Lars, now is this going to be one of your cars or is it for someone else?
Hum.. doesn't everyone have a Sun machine in their garage along with a lift and beer tap I wish I did!

You know I was thinking about you yesterday,...should I work on a vette part or go to the bar and watch the Packer game with a couple of brews.
The vette parts are still waiting Cheers my friend!

You don't have to choose between doing one or the other: You simply turn on the garage TV, draw a fresh beer from the garage draft beer tap, and work on the Vette parts while sitting at the garage bar. These are truly just the basic essentials to a modest garage and Vette workshop...

Lars,
sounds great but I live in CT so not many Packer games are on around here. Wait a minute slap a dish on the building and we're go to go!! Problem is when Green Bay screws up I may have to vent on the parts!
PS do you have a flowbench too
