Default play in the window.

How much play should there be in the window? I have adjusted the wondow pads and still have alot of play. Do I need to replace the rollers? To replace the rollers do I have to pull the wondow all the way out? She is a 79.
thanks
steve

I am rustling with the same problem, I have one pad per side and it appears 2 might work better. If I adjust the one pad in to keep the window from rattling it is too far in and rubs the window too hard as it goes up!!! Make sense??

There should be two anti-rattle pads per window. (fore & aft)Snug em up against the glass. Remove the door panel to gain access to the cover plates & access holes and check to see if the glass has come loose from it's horizontal track. The glass is bolted to that track. Tighten up all the tracks top & bottom. If everything looks good....and the glass is still rattling...your rollers are shot. Yep.."everything' has to come out to change all the rollers. Clean & lube all tracks before installing and your windows should work like new!!

And remember to replace the outside weather strip along the top of the door. It the "other side" of what holds the window in place when you snug up the pads. And, oh ya, replace the pads too.
