Did you ever get your locks working? I bought new actuators for both doors, but neither of mine work yet. I have 12v coming into both switches via the orange wire. I just ordered new switches to see if that's my problem...

I talked with some tech people today about vette power door locks. The main switches which control both doors are in the passenger side door. I thought it was in the drivers side but is not. Also, was informed that they are reversing polarity. You have a hot orange wire going to the switch in the door and 2 grounds; you make a positive connection in, both, lock and unlock sides of the switch. This is a complicated system so be careful not to fry your system. I'm installing keyless entry on my 79 and found that I did not have to go into the door panels to install. Just remove the driver side kick panel and find the pink and purple wires going to the door. Good luck on your repair.

Make sure you apply white grease to the mechanical components while you are in there. Binding mechanicals are a reason that the solenoids fail.

Also lube up your power window components (rails, etc.) while you have the door open.
