Distributor Chirp
I have recently picked up a chirp in what sounds like the distributor. It is RPM dependent and occasionally goes away. Most noticeable on startup after not using for a week or so. It is a stock with with no mods. The Tach is steady so I don't think that's involved.
Anybody else have this?

STOP! right now, remove the disributor and check the Tach drive gears, it sounds like they are running dry! You need to remove the brass threaded coupler and clean the gear drive area and fill it with a high temp molly wheel bearing grease. I would also check the upper end of the distributor housing and advance weights to make sure they are lubricated. Get a GM shop manual for the procedure.
