"76 Stingray
I have just purchased a "76 Vette for a project. I am looking for any advice you can give me toward the rebuild of this vette. What hints or clues can you give me? When I bought it the eng. had just been rebuilt both top and bottom. The body is in really great shape & the frame only has a small amount of surface rust. The interior is trashed. I have torn everything apart and am getting ready for the clean up & restoration. I have not decided on a color yet so if you have photo's of prospect colors please send them.
Thanks: Vettecus
......interior parts are expensive, so if you stay with the existing colour you can re-use a lot of existing parts......this will save you money and time dyeing parts.........
Here's a list of '76 stock interior colours.......sorry, I don't have any colour chips......
B=Black
BG=Blue Green
DB=Dark Blue
F=Firethorn (anybody know what this is?????? Red???)
SG=Silver Gray
W=White
You must also be aware that 76 Stingrays are the next big thing
First thing to look at on your 76 is the floor. in 76 a partial steel floor replaced the fiberglass floor as a heat sheild for the catalytic converter and higher engine compartment temps. Unfortunately it was not galvanized
