I finally got a chance to flog my ISKY270/280 Mega Cam which replaced my wiped XE262. Results are OK but not what I was hoping for. But I'm confident I will get the car into the high 7.80's/low 7.90's.
I made 5 passes, ET's were: 8.231, 8.218, 8.113, 8.100 and 8.096. Sixty foot times were 1.818 - 1.886. The latter caused by a bad airdoor adjustment that caused a bog.
By the end of the nite I had it running comparable to the XE262. The only tuning I did was tire pressure, sparkplugs and airdoor adjustments. I couldn't do any timing adjustments because my light crapped out on me. I checked it today and it was too much (38 total). It runs best with 34-35 total normally. The sixty foot was a bit more than usual but the mph was consistant around 85. Previous 60 foot times were in the mid to high 1.7's and I'd like to see mph in the 86.5 - 87 range. If I can tune in those two factors I'll be in the high 7.80's/low 7.90's for sure. Bright side is I won every race. Opponents included a Mustang, Ford Lightning, F body Camaro and 2 Imports. Reaction times were great, .055, .040, .009, .025 and a -.041 redlight.
I'll try again Friday.

Hmmm.. I expected faster times than that... I'm sure that some tuning will make a nice difference
I was looking for a little more also but for the first time out (without N20) I think I'm on the right track. It took me 3 years to go from 8.20's to that 7.991 with the XE262. You have to be patient when you don't have alot of $$$ to throw at it. I'll get there and ya'll will definitely know when I do!

Looks like there's some potential for improvement at the 60' time...(as seen in the other thread)
Are you running an automatic or 4-speed? Your cam needs a high rpm launch.
700R4, launching at about 1600 - 2000 rpm. I couldn't really see on Friday because everyone I lined up against burned out and immediately went in and lit both bulbs. When I got in I didn't have time to watch the tach. I know it was T&T but my pride won't allow sitting there while the other guy is gone. I still want to win the race.

How high of a launch would you recommend?
....around 2500-3000 rpm would get you out of the hole MUCH faster...
C3 Stroker - without a transbrake your not even going to get 2000 rpm out of 700R4 before the rear tires start overcoming the rear brakes and start smoking the tires.
nice job. im sure you will see some even greater times. I have only hit a few 7.9s with my car. If you got 8.0s the first try im sure you are making much more power.
