Tri power HELP
Building a 68 tri power need info on every thing, numbers on base ( i have three front and rear base that have #1 stamped, and one base that has #2 stamped?) also two center base that are a little different from one another? I also would like to know if any web sights that have info to look at, and check numbers and build information, Im also looking for two pods and hardware, choke spring-cover-hardware, linkage for the two outboard carbs, bracket and hardware for accel cable ( and i know i need to post on the parts forum, just asking while at this forum)
Thanks Michael

Chicago Corvette used to be a good source for Tripower parts but I am not sure they are still in business.
Do you have an assembly manual? always a good start.
Linkages, choke stuff and fuel lines are available from Paragon and most other suppliers. Better to get new on those items unless you are building a survivor.
Good luck with the rebuild!
James
I haven't found a site with the info your looking for (I went thru the same problem when I went looking for my tri-powers), however, I did find a book the had ALL the necessary info you will need: "Corvettes by the Numbers" by Alan Colvin (or "Chevrolet by the Numbers, 1965-1969 works just as well). If you have a mega book store in your area, just browse the book for the info you need or get from Amazon.com.
As for parts, Doc Rebuild has a great selection, www.docrebuild.com. Also hunt the web, in particular, www.ebaymotors.com , search field for 'corvette 427' or 'tri-power'. All of the parts you've mentioned have been listed there monthly...the vacuum pods, linkage, choke assm. If I can assist you, give me a holler. Mike

Mike thanks for the reply, The biggest difference in the center bases is on the one at the center / back of the base is what looks like a non fuctioning vac port with no hole?????????? The number on this base is 12 R 3632 B Im thinking this is the right one for a 68? I let that book go on ebay just yesterday ( corvette by the #s) but really need to pick one up!!! and saw the pods and linkage for pods @ 205.00 (( JUST BEND ME OVER & please no axle grease, just make it hurt)) was in hope of used a little cheaper!! Thanks for the replys from all, Any help would be great, I really owe this forum some pics one day and thanks to the many with help they have given, Michael
Yep, have fun locating those pods at a reasonable price The ctr carb's base has a vacuum port that connects to the choke control. I'm not familiar with the part #s for the base, more familiar with the carbs themselves. The vacuum secondary pods always seem to be missing on the sets offered over the net. I just noticed that Chicago Corvette (www.chicagocorvette.com) has the pods complete for $88 a pop (their part #B3972) Get their catalog as it has good exploded views of the carb assemblies. Mike
BTW, do you already have the air cleaner assm?
