Sorry I missed this yesterday. MY crossmember is knotched on the bottom to allow a 3 inch pipe to pass under the crossmember, not through it and at the same time the exhaust is moved out to keep heat away from the transmission.
I also run camaro headers so they come straight back off the motor and not angle inward towards the transmission.
This is an old shot.
I tried side exhaust for about a month and couldn't stand the noise so I went with the conventional rear exit with slight turn downs. I used straight outlets for a summer but thought they looked too much like a mustang so I went back to turn downs.
The problem is they blow alot of dust up. My exhuast pulses alot and it really raises dust clouds.
Thanks. So, if I were to follow your installation, I should use 3" pipe all the way, including the "H" pipe (or x-pipe), layed out in a "stock" configuration, and then from below the differential exiting in the stock location. Makes sense.
By the way, I've got my engine in the shop right now prepping for a 6-71 blower.
that exhaust looks like reactor plumbing at a nuke power plant. WOW massive. I mean that in a GOOD way.
My entire system is 304 stainless flex which is extremely easy to install and will last forever, but it looks like the Mass Inspectors are cracking down and i will have to replace it before next inspection.

I'm not real fond of flex, actually they don't allow it here (why I don't know). I used flex piping on a buddies car (4 banger eurotrash) because the bends were too complicated and I didn't want to spend too much time on it. After time it did develop a leak. The main reason I don't like it is looks and the fact that it takes away from some of the rigidity of the exhaust piping. I like it a bit stiff so you don't have to use a lot of hangers (I also like short rubber section I hate it when the pipes wiggle when driving a car, it looks silly)

The cool thing about flex is that i was able to run it OVER the half shafts so it doesn't bottom out in the rear. Don't tell me your's doesn't bottom out. Everybody's exhaust bottoms out in the rear and wears through eventually. I don't care so much that the pavement wears through the pipes, its just embarrasing leaving a trail of sparks behind you.
When you finally start driving yours you'll realize what i'm talking about.
Mine won't bottom out because I'm not even going near the rear, the pipes will exit under the doors and I have oval tubing & the mufflers for that. See sig pic for an idea of how it will be

You'll love the 6-71 and the incrdible torque. The cross over pipe is not necessary, your bottom end torque will be strong enough. The crossover just takes some of the resonance out of the system.
Blower motors need the biggest heads and exhaust you can get.
I run my blower 15% overdrive for alot of bottom end boost. It would not be good if I ran top end alot because the blower would overboost the engine but 99% of my driving is around town and expressways and even at 100mph I am only reving in the 26-2700 range.
Thank you Norval (sorry for mis-spelling your name). I'm going to modify my cross-member as well to allow the exhaust to run under it.
Does your exhaust exit in the rear like orignal, or dump under the cal?
Thanks!

sorry to drift OT, but how do you like the supercomp headers? any ground clearance issues? fitment issues?
and what color is that? look similar to Targa/Bridgehaptom blue...

Turbo-Jet,
The stock color code is 927, and it's called Dark Blue. My car was repainted before I purchased it, and I'm not sure what the current color is. It tends to change from blue to a deep purple depending on the lighting/sun.
The Hookers are GREAT! They slipped right on (from below), fit perfect, and there are no clearance problems.
