Default Old guy finally did it !!!

Everyone,

I guess I can say that I am officially one of the boys now.

I didn't get my 80-82 but, I got one gorgeous '78 coupe. I am one happy camper.

My first Vette... I would post some pictures if I new how, but I am not too 'puter literate. This old guy has problems with the TV remote.

Maybe someone could post them for me. I am proud of this little puppy.

Congrats Rufus. Sounds like you are happy and that is the main thing. You can put your pics on the corvette forums host and they will be listed under your user name. Here is the link. Just signup like you did when you came to the forum. Just fill in the name and follow the directions. When your pics get approved we all can see them.

Come on ... if you wanna post pics, then you can at least operate the digital cam.
In order to post pictures, you need them uploaded to the web somewhere.
If your internet provider gives some web space on their servers, that will work.
Alternatively, there are several free photo hosting services. Lots of
people use cardomain.com.
You can now upload photos to corvette forum.com - see sticky post at the top of C3 listing.

I waited 61 years for this car. That's a long time to wait for anything.

I have wanted a Vette since my High School days. So I guess to be honest, it's only been "43 years".

Still a long time....

Congratulations! Driving a Vette will keep you young. Are you married or are you going to be out cruising for chicks?

Cruisin for chicks..... Ain't enough room in my "new" Vette for the 55 gallon drum of Viagra.

Also look like the "Monkey doin his thing to the football" when getting in and out of this baby. [ Double knee replacements and legs don't bend beyond 90 degrees.]

Must be some little " hottie" out there that could get into that....

What do you think?

You are on your own bro'. But you need to figure it out quick before the chicks start swarming. It's a tough job but you gotta do it.

Congratulations Kenny! Get out and enjoy that Corvette. Join a Club if there is one in place locally. You will have a lot of fun with cruises, charity events and even a trip to the dragstrip from time-to-time. And the camaraderie of Corvette owners cannot be beat.

I planned financially and emotionally for Freedom 55 for quite some time. When the time came I bought myself a present.

Just a warning: Watch out for the chicks!

At 56 I've started my search for my first Corvette also.
Give me some ideas about what you did to find yours.

psw5940,

I really just started by surfing the net. If you search you can find what your looking for.

It was so confused. I just did not know which direction I wanted to go.
C3, C4, C5 etc. After deciding what I wanted to look for it made it a lot easier for myself.

I really was determined to get a '80-82 [my favorite]. I saw my '78 and fell in love with it.

If you are willing to travel a little you can do better, but I did not want that kind of hassle so I opted to just stay kind of local.

Bought it from a Speciality Car Store. The first placed I went. I really wanted to buy from a private owner.

But you know what happens when you get excited. Could not resist the temtation.

I picked this Vette up for $13,500.

I don't know if I paid to much and probably could have done better with more shopping and a willingness to travel a little, but at this point in my life I said to myself, I don't really give a Chit.

Looked at it for 3 straight days.

First day, kicked the tires, peeked under the hood and opened the door.

Second day, done a little better inspection.

Third Day, got access to a lift and went over it good....Bought it after some hagling.

Good Luck

Well done my dear sir!!!

This is what it is all about....a bit of cruising around and sharing your happiness and experiences while enjoying your new toy with a bunch of crazies that love it as much as you do.

You can tinker and chat on the forum to help find ways to fix the things you break while tinkering

You will get more waves and shouts from frolicking lustful young and not so young ladies that your soul will swim in the passions of life's
precious ecstasies, bestowed on but a few lucky ones alone usually.
A wave from a fellow C3, a nod from another car lover driving whatever they may.

Then when the sun sets into dancing lights of deep rose and a smile of satisfaction inside your heart causes a slight twinge of delight at the corner of your mouth and a sparkle in your eyes, you will roll her back into her Vette bassinet

A moment in time .....to forget all of life's quirks and quarks and regain the will and passion to deal with what life has bestowed on each his own....

Enjoy it to its fullest......
