Advice on Winterizing??

Hey all,

I inherited a 69 Stingray from my father and do not know tha much about it. I have read some and am working to get more knowledgeable. I was wondering if anyone knew any good tips on winterizing. Is there anything specific I should be doing? Thanks

Where in the country are you? Is the car to be stored indoors or out? Basically you need good antifreeze and a good cover.

I store mine in an unheated garage. I put gas store in the tank and fill it up. Then I place a sheet of plastic on the floor and park the car on it. I place wheel dollies under the tires so I can push it around but it is not needed. Then I start the engine and spray fogging oil in the carb until I know everything is coated and shut it off. Next, I disconnect the battery and charge it up. Finally, I cover the car with a lightweight car cover and call it done for the winter.

I live in NW Ohio. My advise is to start the engine every couple of weeks and let it warm up to normal operating temperatures. If the weather permits, then pull the car out of the garage just to keep the brakes loosened up. Otherwise, then fogging the engine and adding fuel stablizer is essential.
