Default Hard Top Weatherstrip Installation

I am in the process of replacing the weatherstripping on my hard top and have a question. For those of you that have done this, did you use weatherstrip adhesive during the installation. The pieces I removed were only held in place by plastic clips or screws.

Thanks,

Mike

I did the T-Tops on my 73 and I ran a thin bead of black weatherstrip adhesive on the rubber to connect all the press-in plastic tabs. I figured it might help with water and wind sealing. In fact I did this for each piece of weatherstrip that I replaced. Wind noise is way down!

I replaced mine a few months ago with a kit from the Doctor (actually Corvette Rubber parts). Been driving it for a while now. I didn't use any adhesive except on the front corners. No problems.

I used the black adhesive as a matter of course, but now I'm wondering if I needed to. Maybe I should have read this instructions?

I would not use glue. You want to be able to adjust the location of the strips to the side glass with the top in place.
