Most searches I've done only turn up posts from July. I wish it worked like it should so I wouldn't have to ask the same stupid questions as someone did a month ago.

well you seem to have 2 threads going here, this one seems to have more posts, so I'll duplicate my response over here

I feel really strongly about this, searching the archived threads was THE ultimate source of information. Not to take anything away from the forum's continuing development, but there were years of extremely interesting discussions at anyones disposal. Though the search function never was very user friendly...

If what you said about the threads still existing is true, I SERIOUSLY hope those who run this forum realize what a resource they have, for all practical purposes, out of reach. Now that most seem to be able to access the forum, this should be priority #1.

This is probably the reason we have more of the basic questions flooding the forum that we used to.

actually the two threads are two different questions...
1...concerns the search function...
2...concerns looking for our own threads in our profiles...

#2 sucks because if you ask a question in the morning and then after work you want to see the replies...you have to hunt them down

Whoops my bad, not reading too closely. Actually if you find any post with you in it, you can find all your previous posts by clicking on your name. I just discovered this and it doesn't seem to be messed up like searching is.

i'm glad yours is working because mine isn't.... i can't tell if its limited to a time frame or a certain number of posts? however the posts always seem to be there when i manually go back 20-30 pages????

On the top of the screen is a row of pop up menus, if you click on the one marked "Active" the second choice down is "My Recent Topics". Sometimes it works real fast, other times it doesn't.

Signguy,

I just got several pages of your past posts by clicking on search and then click advance search. I then asked for posts by "signguy' and selected the C3 general forum. The results seemed to show only July foreward, but that's because it is limited to 25 per page look at the top right and you will the additional pages. i also have good luck when searching for some things by using quotes("") around the whole thing , like "power window motor".

Hope this helps and glad to hear you back. figured you had to replace every sign in Florida.

Don't get me going on this topic.
I was stupid enough to think that the CF archives would always
hold my old posts. They are all gone. More disturbing is that
EVERYONEs old post have disappeared.

Actually, I'm missing everything from 10/2002 to 6/2004.
Unfortunately for me, that is basically all my posting.
Now that my home PC harddrive crashed, I'm ready to give up.

See this

optained by searching c3 general for posts by NHvette and asking for a year ago and older. I think it has to do with the parameters taht are set.

When you do a search, look at the search options sections . It has two parts under find post from.

the first part has choices from your last visit to a year ago and any date. I think any date is defaulting to just the previous 12 months. The second half says and newer or and older. In the above post on NHvette, I used a year ago and older.

If I have a long somewhat complicated post, I construct it in word, save it and then copy it to my post. There are many subjects that come up frequently and I just copy and reply.

Does anyone have black corvette? Does Howdy Doody have wooden *****?

Actually I love black but keeping the dust off ... well.

On the subject though. Have you noticed that there is a difference in black paint? I have black motorcycle and it is much blacker than my domestic 4 wheel vehicle.
