I had the transmission rebuilt and the shifter replaced with Hurst comp. shifter. Now that I have the car back, the shifter doesn't seem to be quite right, and based on other corvette forum posts, it should be smooth. 1st & 2nd gear are hard shifts and sometimes when shifting from 1st to 2nd, it won't go into gear. 3rd and 4th shift firm but smooth. I called the shop, brought the car to the shop and they took a test drive. They experienced the same problems, made some adjustments and told me to let him know. I drove it home as well as a few times over the weekend and it's only about 20% better - same issues. 3rd and 4th are fabulous - It's lived up to the rave reviews from other forum posts on Hurst comp shifters. But with the problems I'm having in 1st & 2nd, I'd rather have the old shifter back.
The work has already been done so I'm not sure what to do.I don't know if I'm being too particular or not. But after having new trailing arms, differential and tranny rebuilt, it should drive like a newer car. Suggestions, advice....?
