Default C3 Colors

Insomnia last night 'forced' me to do some surfing of our favorite subject matter for entertainment & continuing education. I have always been curious about the factory colors & the unique names given some of them. Looking thru the various colors offered during the C3 era, I found it interesting that there were years in which some colors - which I always considered as very common in those years such as black, yellow, orange, etc., were absent. The absences seem to mostly occur in the late 60s to mid 70s. Could this be true, could my tired eyes have deceived me, or did I just dream it? I would think black, and also yellow for that matter, would have been offered every year going back to the nearly the beginning of the line in the 50s. Maybe I just hit a couple of bum websites with missing info but I know one of them has been linked on here before by more senior members. Any ideas or opinions?

Black was not offered on a 71 due to low quality of the paint supplier. Other colors were not offered due to low demand from previous years.
