question for the 80-82 guys
I was under an 82 today and saw 2 "U" shaped brackets under the rear bumper and one bracket under the front bumper. What is the purpose of these?

The brackets on the back are quite heavy so I took them off.

I have those on my 81, always wondered what they were for, especially the two in the back. I just took them for a trailer hitch mount or something
