Can someone tell me how to adjust the suspension on the rear of my 71 to correct a "lean" to the left? Thanks

you might have a worn spring or springs if its "leaning" Its pretty simple to adjust if its just slightly off. Crawl under there and you'll see your rear leaf spring has a bolt through each end holding it to the trailing arm. Put a vise grip on the unthreaded part of the bolt and tighten the nut on the end until your car sits level.

I have a fairly new composite leaf and setup. The lean is approx 3/4 to 1 inch lower on the left (drivers) side than the right. In this case, which nut should I tighten? The right? Thanks for the quick help...my first Vette...

Tighten whichever side is lower.
Tightening the spring bolt raises that side.
Loosening the spring bolt lowers that side.
In other words if you like the drivers side ride height then loosen the passenger side (if you can) or tighten the drivers side to match the passenger height.

theandies...what about the cotter pin through the castle nut on that bolt? Won't you end up with the nut that you tighten up 1/2" or so above the pin that is supposed to hold it on?

I have the exact same problem on my 71...

Ya, I suppose so. If you have to tighten it 1/2 inch you must be running really low. Remember tightening = raising and loosing = lowering. I guess you could find a shorter bolt or drill what you have. I just installed a composite spring and the nuts are the self-locking type. I also have 8-inch bolts because composite springs are notorious for riding high. I have about a quarter inch of bolt threads left. I am going to drill the bolt and nut someday and put a cotter pin in it just for piece-of-mind.
