I used to be here under the same name as my emails(for those who have recieved them)....I've used the same name since the early 90's(usenet).
Speaking of usenet, there still seems to be quite a few of the regs from there here ...........How about the old CCA, are you here dood? ....sorry, just having a flashback
But had to change after being booted by Earl for voicing my opinon of what i'd considered an inferior product.
Really? If you don't mind me asking, why would you need to carry a concealed weapon?
Not to butt in but I carry a firearm myself because I don't EVER want to miss the chance to blow some punks head off that deserves it. ......You guys ever seen Pulp Fiction?

Now why don't the car cruise's I go to have women like you there Liz. I wouldn't miss one.
I'm just a smart a$$.. Now that I've been listening to Bob and Tom on the radio I could make it like their song "I wanna be Bob" Just change it to "I wanna be Dave".. I'm soo cool.. Right??Dave.
Do you feel safe everywhere ????? ever been punked/ beat-up/???
Yeah, I pretty well feel safe everywhere. I've been in fights. But the only weapons involved were fists. The last attempt to hijack a car in Edmonton (pop. 1 million) was about 2-3 years ago. And since the car jacker didn't have a gun or knife, he got the crap kicked out of him. Murders for the whole country last year (32 million) was about 350-400. So, I feel pertty safe. You have to go out of your way to get your *** kicked. You'd really have to look, to get yourself killed.
Anyway, I wasn't trying to ridicule LegalCarry, I don't know his situation. I was just curious. There was a guy here once (the only one in the area) who had the ok from the police to carry a weapon. Never knew why.

Hey Vettdrm, I wasn't ignoring your question. I just forgot I replied to this post and didn't look at it for a while. I certainly don't mind you or anyone else asking.
I live in the southern part of the United States - Alabama. I've grown up around firearms to include target shooting and hunting. Here, it's really part of the culture, which a lot of people don't understand. I'm not saying that you don't understand. My interest in firearms has grown over the years from long guns to handguns as well. Because I feel comfortable with firearms, I don't mind having one as a last resort self defense measure. I don't typically carry it on me personally, however, one is always in a vehicle with me when I leave home. I don't necessarily feel unsafe when I'm out, nor do I go out of my way to get into trouble. I've maintained my carry permit for almost 20 years, without incident. However, there was one instance within the last year which I was out of town, in a city known for having it's share of whackos and deviants, in which I was really comforted in having a firearm with me. I was not in a "bad" part of town, and had hotel staff not inadvertently intervened (they didn't have a clue to the situation I was about to be in ) I may have had to defend myself and my wife with lethal force. I'm of the opinion that it is far better to have access to my firearm as a self defense measure, and have it everytime I leave home without having to use it, than to be without it one time and really need it. So far, I'm not restricted by State and local legislation with prohibits me from having a concealed carry permit, as Alabama still abides by the true intent of the 2nd Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Sorry, didn't mean to ramble so much, but I wanted all to understand my reasoning.
I'm into the C3 generation of 'vettes. I look at the 15 year production run of these cars, as three subcategories,ie: 1968 to 1972
1973 to 1977
1978 to 1982
Since I have owned 3 '70's, 2 '71's & 2 '72's...... that of course makes me an "early shark".
Currently my ride is a 1971 LS-6 coupe, white with red vinyl. affectionately known as the "Great White shark".
