Looking at all the nicknames i was just wondering if there is a story behind the name.Lotahp,twin-turbo and some of the others seem to be self explanatory but others have me wondering.I was commander of American Legion Post 370 in Westlake La when i got on E-bay in 1999 and just use this name as a catch all phrase. I operate under the Kiss( keep it simple stupid) principle when available. Seems the older i get the more i forget.
I've been "The Dude" or just "Dude" in some circles since high school. Later a movie called "The Big Lebowski" came out and that was the nickname of Jeff Bridges' character. Funny, back in my pre-USMC days, I kinda looked like the movie character--I even had (and still have) that Pendleton sweater he wears in the movie.

When I bought my Vette earlier this year I needed an address so I used my initials and the year Vette I had. That is how I came up with kdf1986. About 3 months ago I bought another Vette, a 73 with the original 454. And that is the reason I am in this forum. I spend more time in this forum than the C4 forum. Probably 90% to 10%. Working on the C3 is more fun and easier to do than the C4.
Mako72 is a tribute to the car that started my desire for a C3. The Mako Shark 2 GM showcar that I first saw as a kid back in the '60's at an auto show in Tampa, Florida. I knew I would have a shark one day.
Always wanted a vette, especially a c3 but was too sick and on dialysis and couldn't go anywhere. This june I got a transplant, the first of its kind in Canada, and after I got home I bought a 78. The nickname seemed to fit.
When I bought my 'Vette I lived in the Timmins area of Northern Ontario... But I have since moved to FAR NORTHERN Canada, Yellowknife NWT, CND. Thus..."North Vette"....
I've been the "wizard" at work forever... mostly because I was probably the only one who ever read the manual. That became Wizard Deluxe from the move (Wizard of Oz - the man knew how to make you feel good about your situation without actually DOING anything) and I own that domain name. Deluxe is just my consistant shortened version of that.
My alias has been djunod for years... first initial and last name. I don't like to use any other alias scheme (like year of car etc) because all that changes... also, I like for people to know who I really am on all the different boards I frequent... I have no reason to hide or pretend I'm something I'm not...
