Default You guys with computer controlled carbs...

Hey, I picked up this 81 Formula (ok so it's not a vette), It will run fine til it warms up them missing spitting sputtering. It is not to bad running WOT but if you slow down to turn pushing in clutch, it dies. Will start back up if I hold pedal to floor. Here is what I have done...replaced fuel pump, rubber fuel lines, cleaned out tank and sock filter, replaced ignition module, swapped carbs, replaced fuel filter. I don't know if it is starving for fuel or what. Any ideas?

Default computer control carb.

If you can get a copy of the September 2004 issue of VETTE MAGAZINE the Q&A column on page 91 has a great cure for this. You replace the carb and distributor and eliminate the computer. If you can't get a copy email me a fax number and I will fax you the article.

I don't have access to a fax. Does anyone have a scanner and the article?

What I'd do...

Is check for vacuum leaks. Pull the wires going to the carb, see if it runs better. Check the timing... pull the plugs, see if its running rich/lean.

The above puts ya in the right direction... its either ignition timing or fuel delivery!

Check your computer for trouble codes. Is your choke operating correctly? When it does miss do you have spark on all 8 plugs?
