Default Got a price for a replacement windshield.

Called a local glass guy and they can have one in two days. Installed it's $234, which I thoughtwas a good deal. Maybe in the spring.

Something wrong with this price?

Probably about right. These older windshields are pretty inexpensive. I had one put in my 68 Firebird for $150, and they did a house call. Joe

I took the old one out myself, wanted to cleanup the frame and paint...and inspect for rust. An installed new windshield performed in my garage was $225. They gave me a discount since the old window was already out. It sure is nice to look out through new glass.

I don't know, I just thought that since it's a "Vette" it'd be about $400. I'm psyched now. Just gotta get the windshield wipers to work.

Got a quote for $160 or so installed in the driveway from Safelite auto glass. 1-800-800-ASAP for a quote. After they give you the price, tell them you are going to shop around. They will give you the lower price to do the deal on the phone.

I don't understand. If the price ya'll are getting is in the $200 range, how can Ecklers be charging $479 just for the glass?

Later.....

Good question, perhaps it is some sort of dated NOS glass. I think only Ecklers can answer this. I found that having the windshield replaced was one of the best things I did to my vette...from an overall value perspective.

My windshield is in good shape, but I just had to take a peak at this topic to see if I fall out of my seat , not too bad IMHO
