Hi All
In case some of you folks are going to holiday in Phuket (pronounced Po Ket) this new year you might drop by Nickies Handlebar on Patong beach to see our Corvettes on display. This is the first time some of us in Thailand will be together and if we get a good responce we will do more gatherings.
My 81 should be complete next week after 1.5 years being redone.
What is the month and what days will you be there.
Dave
The dates are December 29-30-31 2004
Hoping to get as many as posable to show but in Thailand there are not too many Corvettes so we will see how it goes.
Wish I could make it! My wife and I were over there a couple years ago right after 9/11. We both loved the country - very nice people and great food! I don't recall seeing ANY Vettes though.
So what do you do in Thailand? How long have you been there?
Do you happen to know Bruce Waite who lives on Phuket Island? He used to have the Paradise Bar down near the Holiday Inn on Patong Beach.
Bruce is big time into building up cars and 4X4 (no Corvette that I know of). He is participating in the rainforest challenge in Malaysia this week or next.

I moved to Thailand in 1985. And have been active in the Motorcycle scene then even when bikes more than 150cc were illegal. But around 1990 that all changed and I went from 1000cc Kawasaki’s and 1000cc Hondas to Harleys. Was one of the founding members of the first Harley clubs in Thailand (Immortals MC Thailand) in 92 and in 1995 was the chairman of the first Phuket Bike Week for the club. Did the Chairman bit for the club for four Years then the guys in Phuket have keep it going till today. In 2000 I built a replica Captain America pan head and it took around one year to complete in order to make it as close a copy as possible. I showed it for two years and in 2003 traded it to Nicky of Nicky’s Handlebar in Phuket for a 1981 Corvette. The Corvette was stock with a 4 speed but old so for the past 1.5 years I have done a body on complete rebuild with all new engine rebuild, she will be ready next week. I will try to post Pictures in December.
I still Ride my 2000 Road King Classic when I can and as a Life Member of the Immortals MC I try to keep in contact with Bikers in Thailand.

Do you know Captain Canada (Andy)who has the Yellow T-bucket in Phuket?
I am not familiar with the name Captain Canada but after living on Patong Beach for 5 years I moved in 1987. The guy I mentioned, Bruce Waite, happens to be from Vancouver Canada.
