That's funny. I can't tell you how many times I heard that from my Mom when I was a kid. It must just be my nature.

There is nothing in beginning this thread that is contrary to any requests or demands that I have recieved from any other parties, and I have complied with all the requests or demands that I have recieved from any other parties. If any other parties are upset with this thread or think that it remotely pertains to them then they most definetly take themselves way to seriously.

What about 'bubba' stuff ? For example: I am waiting to find a good deal on a horn button for my '79 (there was none when I bought the car)... ... 'Bubba's" fix: I glued a 3.5" diameter "wall protector" (the plastic disc that you're supposed to glue on the wall to prevent door **** damage) to the tilt/telescopic steering wheel ring... that will do it until I find a good deal on a horn button... I guess most of you are still laughing - but how many points does this cost me ???

Gator would you mind if I use the below LARS moniker on my site. LARS just was here on the San Diego leg and love the job you did on that.

P.S. no attorneys

We may want to start a seperate post on "bubba's cheap and easy repairs" - that would be fun....

I guess you're interessted in photos, I'll post them as soon as I'm back home - tomorrow night.... hey, I was laughing all the time I did that... and I was impressed how good this wall protector fits, better than most of the parts I bought... .... painted flat black it looks ok but the horn won't work of course....

What else is out there that can go on the bubba list ??? I have a feeling this is getting really funny....

BTW, I'll gladly accept to become a member of a jury ... there should be more than only one person judging..... oh hell, this is going to be fun...

I could always add another rabbit's foot if needed. Didn't know they were worth that much.

I forgot to mention that next to the foot is a vacuum sealed 4 leaf clover from the '30's. Just for luck.

:

we need to separate the Bubba repairs, we need a "DR Bubba" to show unconventional repairs but done with skill and craftsmanship, as well as "Backyard Bubba" and "Beer Bubba", the last two ar self explanatory...

I've got a bubba one but can't decide on a value. When I was putting the interior together, the brake switch was about 3/8" away from the bracket that depresses the button, so no brake lights. I know I saw a switch somewhere that had extended threads for a situation like this, but the rocket scientists at the parts counter of Pep Boys & Auto Zone couldn't find what I was looking for. Time to Bubba it! I had a brain storm (actually maybe light drizzle) and figured out a fix. Took double sided tape and taped 4 nickels together and stuck on the bracket. Now the nickels contact the switch and I have brake lights! Also, if I ever need an extra $0.20 for anything, it's there too! (of course I'll have to get back home with no brake lights!)
Wonder how much that one's worth ??

I don't think the original intent of this thread was for Bubba repairs.

More for items that would cost points in the un-named society. Here, those mod's or wrong numbers would gain points, but be deducted from the 5,000 point starting point. Bubba repairs not counted.

Gator can correct me if I'm outa line.

A buuba repair is a modification. It doesn't have to be a particularly good modification to qualify. If you claimed 1000 points for a door protector horn button you would get the points but you would more than likely loose the respect of the judges. However if you claimed 1 point and it was a really good looking door protector then the judges could award more points.

Jughead can I borrow your rabbits foot when I submit my car for judging? I'm sure it will help put me over the top. Once I get the award I will gladly return it.

The intent of this thread is to show how a particular group could be more inclusive and have a less serious side, have some fun, increase membership and get some really nice cars out of the event parking lot and into their event and still maintain the "serious" side of the hobby.

Sure. You'll also need a short piece of red ribbon, to keep anyone from putting a curse on your car.

First, you cannot use the word or term "points" in conjuction with Corvettes it is a TM term.

Second, if you keeping digging all that can happen is you reach China

I agree:
adding a straight rear-axle should be worth 1750 points, 2500 if narrowing the rear frame-rails, and adding wheel-tubs.
100 point bonus for solid rear axle with DRUM brakes optional.....

Blower sticking thru the hood: 1000 points,
tunnel-ram thru the hood is 750'
Pro-Stock style hood-scoop worth 500 points.

roll bar: 500
roll-cage, with non swing-out door-bar = 750
5-point belts/restraint-system receives 250 points.

road-racing style fender-flares, or widening/lengthening rear wheel-well opening for over-sized slicks: 750

3.5" wide drag-racing style "front-runners": 250

Anybody with a one-piece bodied C2/C3 Funny Car should be immediately installed as our "Grand Pubbah" for "lifetime-achievement"
