Just for fun
Here is how it works. You start with 5000 points. For every incorrect modification you get points deducted. when you reach 0 points you get the coveted I.F. award. Every time you get an additional 1000 points deducted you get a "Gravity" award. So a car like Norvals would get something like a 5g I.F. award (just an estimate as I'm sure it would end up higher).
It could be an honor system where you claim the point value of the modification. If you claim way high of a point value then the only thing you would loose is the respect of the judges but not the points (remember just for fun) If the judges think the points are too low for a modification then points can be added. After posting a modification to the forum just claim the number of points deducted at the bottom of the post (it can be something else to debate in the thread). Who are the judges? We are.
What do you think certain modifications should be worth? Remember the award should be hard to get otherwise the winners of the award won't be elite.
I'm probably too much of a smart azz for my own good!

--1000 points for crate engines (500 for Goodwrench LM-1)
--1000 points for Steeroids
--500 points for aluminum radiator
--500 points for custom wheels

I use the previously mentioned names only out of the greatest repect to the "owners". Please no letters from your attorneys.
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
You would be copying their idea of rewarding owners with performance upgrades, they have their "BPU" system.
So here is what I propose for my car

-350 pts. Cam change
-250 pts. non original intake
-100 pts. for non-original ignition
-500 pts. for custom wheels
-250 pts. for modern stereo (visible in dash, of course)
-250 pts. for non-original carb + 10 pts. for modifying the aftermarket carb
-300 pts. for fiberglass rear bumper
-100 pts. Camaro seatbelts
-500 pts. Side pipes
-~100 pts. for weight reduction (1 pt. for 1 lb.)
-50 pts. for electric fan
=2760 pts. I'm ½ way there

how much for fender flares and a rear wing?
should be at least 250 points if you have a sub, 300 if its not hidden in the luggage compartment.
We could also do a bubba points system.
5 for each foot of wiring wrapped in electrical tape.
3 for every crimp connector
5 for every nut broken off so it got welded in place
10 per zip tie
10 per foot of duct tape
etc.
You guys are awesome tonight! Sitting here sipping on a scotch, crank up the computer & see that you guys have invented the greatest event ever! And it never ends; every mod is more points so it lasts forever. The only bad thing about seeing a pristene completely restored to exactly original vette is; it isn't driven. Maybe once in a great while; but it isn't as good as the ones that have been modified with the latest technology to make them faster, safer, more reliable and better looking. What a Shame! The only downside to this is I am sooooo slow to make changes I will never be in the running with the majority; but onward thru the fog, rise up and make them better than anyone thought possible! Hey, 1bad69, I see you are possibly and NRA member. If you are, I'm already with you one that issue too!!
