Default Halogen Xtra bright tail light bulbs installed

Per the recommendation of another C3 owner I installed halogen Xtra bright bulbs in my 1973 tail lights. BIG improvement! Cost is about $6.00 per bulb which is not inexpensive, but worthwhile in my opinion. Used two bulb number 1156's and two 1157's (2 brake and 2 backup lights). I seldom drive at night, but with the greatly increased brightness of the two small tail lights I do feel safer.

Jughead: Purchased them from Sherco Auto Supply in Margate, Florida. They have an internet site (www.sherco-auto.com); 1-800-548-6229; or 954-975-0052; e mail: parts@sherco-auto.com

Part no. H1157 and H1156. $5.96 each plus shipping.

They shipped ASAP and even called me in Texas from Florida to confirm my internet order.

I was referred to them by another C3 owner. They have lots of auto wiring and electrical accessories.

I agree. I tried the halogen 1157 replacements on a Harley and they didn't last a day. The vibration must have killed them. Be very carefull about doing this. If your brake lights go bad, it's obviously very bad.
