Just got back from Daytona Beach. Boy there was alot of nice cars. And a few "RATS". Weather was a little cool Friday. Anything north of West Plam Beach, Florida is cold for me this time of year. But the Car Gods were looking after us today. I was surprised that there wasn't a place for corvettes. So I did alot of walking. Did anyone else go to the Turkey Run? Oh, only two Brown Vettes mine and a 74 and his was enamel, mine is metallic.
i wanted to go. repaired my rad support went to get the new radiator, and it came out of the box bent to he77. they can't find another till at least monday.plus now one else in o-town mentioned going so i couldn't bum a ride.
so me and the 80 lbs puppy stayed home and tinkered.
I went there looking for some new pistons and checking out the corvette parts. it seems like there was a lot of roadster and old chevy parts but not much vette parts. This year was not as good as last year. if you go there to look at cars it would off been good but not for parts they had mostly junk.
I was there on Friday and it was indeed a great experience, except for the traffic control & the hideous food choices and long lines for the hideous food offered. But the cokes and bottled water were only a $1, that was a surprise!
Not a whole lot of "vettes actually. Mostly muscle cars, rods & customs and older cars and a few trucks. But, really nice in general.
Got some good pix. will try and post in a couple hours.
I was there on Saturday. Lots of beautiful cars and a few nice Vettes (most were for sale). My favorite car was the Lotus 340R that was in the car corral. 1,500 lb. and 190 HP, 0-60 in 4.4 sec.....that's just awsome.
