The AC/Delco number is 16033662 (10 ohm, "upgrade")

Edit: GM Parts Direct has them, $19.00 (a lot better price then I paid)

http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/

Just plug in the part number on their home page.

Too much good (and expensive) information here to risk losing the link.

I bought some Infinity speakers for the wifes 1973 that were a direct bolt-in. I think they're called "plate speakers".

One thing to be on the lookout for are speakers with SUPER LARGE magnets. The location on the drivers side can throw-off your speedo if the speakers magnet is too strong.

Tomorrow, I'm installing two 4x6 Alpine SPS-460A's. Don't go deeper than 2-1/8". I'll worry about the back later

While we're on the subject, has anyone put speakers in the door? If so I'd like some pics! I think I'm going to do this eventually but I'd like to see some spots people have where it doesn't hit the window motors and looks good...

Door isn't a terribly good location but some have put speakers in the kick panels just in front of the doors. Keeping the speakers further in front of you and away from your ears helps imaging. What I mean is, if you have one speaker next to your ear and the other across the car you won't hear much in the way of stereo seperation.
