$$ value on used mandrell bent exhaust
A friend of mine with a '71 has just put a 572 in his car and needs a 3" exhaust system. I am going to put his old system on my car but we were trying to figure out what his old system is worth. It is about 5 years old, 2.5 " aluminized mandrill bent with dynomax super turbo's and in great shape. Any thoughts on what this is worth? Thanks

i'm kind of in the same boat as your friend... i have a several yr old custom exhaust system 2 1/2 inch , with a collector flange, welded two into one system with a cat and new mufflers that i don't need....its too nice to toss and big and awkward to ship to anyone....if i sold it would have to be done on a local basis, the parts are worth $200 -$300 bucks but they are used and a new dual system (less cats)is about $225.... I would think an offer in the $100 -$150 range is pretty fair....i may keep mine only for resale because it would make it street legal... good luck

You can get a brand new mandrel bent system for around $300.
$100 and take it off his hands.

Thanks guys, I have not gotten to the point of doing the exhaust and had no clue what a mandrell bent system cost. We did not figure the used one was worth much, though it has very few miles on it. I just wanted to get an idea for a fair price.
