The headligths are 53/4" crystal clear halogen conversions. The buckets are the regular buckest from a 69, and the stock mouting rings. I had to make up some space posts (threaded) so i can adjust them for direction.

How well do these light the road at night? Are they brighter than the stock? thanks
hey lvrpool32 we are very impressed...we are redoing our #'s matching 1972 LT1 and are in the middle of our project. We are now drilling out the old rivets from the original header bar that bubbled the glass above the lights...we are doing all the work ourselves and want to install those lights. we were going to order them from Dick Gulstrand but we are interested in yours...you did a great job and would like to buy the buckets and the top panels. We live in Queens and could meet if you wanted to sell a set in the future....let me know the price for the whole set up and if you would be interested in fabricating it for us.
you can e-mail me at Nicholas.Lomangino@kravet.com.
Wow, I really want a set of these. I'm not sure I can fabricate them, htough. What guage aluminum are you using for the pods? What would be a good ordinary tool to do the cutting with? Snips, then grind smooth?
You would have to use 16 gauge aluminumc(maybe 18...but that be a little light). You could cut with a jigsaw, woudl be too thick for a pair of hand tinsnips.
Im using the stock headlights and buckets for now,but maybe switch to something better later on.But i want to wait till my covers come in before i mount them.
The small ones are pretty cheap from harbor freight or similar outlets. You don't need one though, a section of square tubing with sharp corners (not the rounded off ones) and some biug c-clamps to clamp it down will allow you to make clean bends also. I hope to have my cnc punched set ready soon, I'll test fit mine then.
I just got mine this past weekend. (Including all holes, exactly matched to a set of original buckets that I had access to.) I probably won't be able to test fit them for a while but I'll measure and locate the holes and add it to the drawing.
For the lights themselves, I'd like to do HID but I'll probably just end up with some halogen bulbs. Either way, they'll be much better than the originals. I plan to use the original wiring the trigger a relay and run a new power wire from the battery so that it gets clean power.
Guldstrand called me back today and informed me they turned back a back batch of covers,so im still waiting for mine. They said quality is there number one thing,i said thats fine i want them to be perfect for $300.
