carb specs
looking at the Haynes repair manual for C-3's. carb specs for rochester (79 L82 auto) show curb idle (D) 700, enriched rpm 730-770, solenoid 800 (D). what's "enriched rpm"? is there no spec for idle in (N) for auto's?

"Enriched rpm" is the rpm you obtain with the idle mixture screws set to the best idle setting. For emissions purposes, once best idle is achieved and set to the noted spec, the idle mixture screws are then screwed in (leaned out) to obtain about a 50 rpm "lean drop" in order to reduce CO emissions. This degrades idle quality and will often result in a slight off-idle throttle response degradataion, so those of us who do not need to pass an upcoming emissions test will usually not perfrom the "lean drop" excercise.
