My ex hated the my Vette and i eventually sold it to keep her happy, but it didnt change much so i bought the current Vette, she hated that as well and was only in once or twice in the six years i have had it.

Now all of a sudden a change of heart, she likes it so much her lawyer has very kindly informed me she wants half of it !!!!!

The key to a successful marriage is communication!

You need to make her understand how important your vette is to you. To most women, " it's just a hunk of metal."
To you it's, "Pride, satisfaction, relaxation, a work of art, your identity, your addiction, etc."

Sit your wife down and spill your guts, women love that. If she still dosen't understand than you shouldn't feel guilty for working on it.

two ex-wives and a corvette later i have to say that if you calculate how much you spend on it in your lifetime, figure the average cost per square foot, back out the depreciation and consider the actual amount of time you get to use it, a vagina has to be the most expensive piece of real estate on Earth.

GO WITH THE VETTE!!!!!!

A wife and a vette don't have to be mutually exclusive of each other. Balance your time and have fun with both. My wife understands that the vette is my hobby and escape from the pressures of work. I agree. In 38 years of marrige, to the same woman, I went through drag cars, street rods and 4 Corvettes before I realized it was a lot better to have them help you.Now my wife loves cruiseing in the vette, a lot of times she is the one who wants to take the vette out for a cruise

Find a wife that goes to bed earlier than you. Put her to bed. Go work on the car. Simple

I tried that, maybe I need to word things different, but It is tough, yes we all like to go for a walk with the wife once and awhile, but come on, I walk all day every day, AT WORK!, but she really needs attention, and most of my attention is on the car, I'll have to change!
Thanks,

The fact that this question was even raised and that so many are joking about it is sad.
It is said, because this is fact not fiction, I really have a problem here, I always get stuck with women, that have absolutley no interest in cars. If a beutiful BB corvette was to drive by us, or parked somewhere, she wouldn't know the difference!

A perpetual bachelor for this very reason.

The day I allow a woman (or anyone) tell me how much time/money I can spend on my interests, hobbies or vices, is the day I'll hand over my nutz.

My dad spent the better part of his life in the garage with a Corvette. My mom left him. He never had time for me or my sister. He died alone, in a recliner, and wasn't found until three days later. The convenience store he frequented called the police because he hadn't shown up in a couple days.

I'll take the wife.

My thoughts exactly. This makes it easier to get the wife to agree with you when you need to spend mucho dollars on your vette.

Yep1

First thing I did was start taking her to our Corvette Club Meetings and got her involved. I also manage that website, so she gets to provide input on it too.

So now, when I go on a Vette run with the club, she is always Right There!

I've been married 19 1/2 years.

When I was considering buying the Vette, I was hemming and hawing on the decision because I really could not justify spending all that money on a money pit. I felt guilty for even wanting to spend the money. Then I told my wife about how in 1968, as a 7 year old boy in Wheaton, Illinois, I saw my first C3 parked on a side street and thought, "That's the coolest car ever!! I have to get one some day". She looked me straight in the eye and said, "You HAVE to buy this car". Once she realized that this was a life-long childhood dream and not just a crazy impulse, she was all for it. Even when I talk about selling it, she argues with me that I cannot sell that car.

Same thing happened with an old picture of a train I have in my office. She hated it and wanted to throw it out until I told her how I was always a steam engine nut as a kid, and the pastor of our church (who was a steam engine nut too) gave me the picture when I was 4 years old. She took it out, had it restored and put a $250 frame around it!!!

I find, when my wife knows the story and reason behind it, when she can understand the importance of it, she always supports me.

That being said, to repay her understanding, I took two years to re-build my rear and front ends. I took the time so that I could make sure I was giving her attention and time too, getting things dome around the house, and so I didn't selfishly use all the expendable cash on my hobby.

Next September, it will be the BIG TWO OHHHH!!

Good luck man.
