Im in a bind again, I love my car, and I love my wife, but I love to spend alot of my spare time working on the vette, she hates it, and thinks I love the vette more than her.....
How do you balance when you have no time?
Darren
Give her a damned good servicing every two weeks, don't forget to spend a couple of hours fiddling with the carbs, make a fuss about the sump plug, and possibly throw something in the boot............
i dumped my girlfriend for my car, she didnt like it, and i didnt like her much after she said Exactly what she said to you. but hey, at least you know the car will appreciate in value, some women never appreciate...in value or in life. LOL

Include her in working with the car..I don't know any Vette owner who
would turn down a naked assistant (opposite sex) or just a good looking fully clothed partner in crime. Be forewarned
though if a divorce happens she might love the car sooo much by then
she'll take it with her
A good wife is hard to find. If you have one, spend more time with her and less with the car. I used to do most of my work when I should have been sleeping, especially after the kids came along. Find a balance. Remember the old saying "If momma ain't happy, then nobody's happy".
I never have this problem, but I dont have a wife either. You may try to invite her in to help with it and then offer to help her with her hobby... that can help add closeness....
I have been married for nearly 14 years and proud of it. I decided to purchased my vette 2 weeks after my second son was born. At first I wanted to spend all my free time working on the car since it was a new toy. Eventually I realized that I needed to find a balance between family and car. Never put a car before family...it's just a car. What I have done is included my wife in the time I spend with the vette. For example, I ask her to come sit outside with me while I work on the car. I ask her for her opinion on things I'm doing to the car such as new door panels. I even encourage her to drive it once in a while...which she appreciates. I like to get a baby sitter for the kids and go out for dinner or a cruise in the vette with her. I also learned to get my house chores done first before working on the vette.
A wife and a vette don't have to be mutually exclusive of each other. Balance your time and have fun with both. My wife understands that the vette is my hobby and escape from the pressures of work. Once she realized this, she became far more understanding of the car. Now I'm getting my 2 young sons involved in the car which gets them excited. Again my wife apprciates this...combining family and hobby.

Get her involved, take her to some vette meetings. She needs to fully understand why you love the vette so much and maybe she'll learn to love it as well. (And it might be a good idea to take the time once in a while to pamper your wife)
