Low Oil Pressure
I need to check out the Oil pickup unit on my 76 L-48 engine. Do you know if I can get the oil pan off without having to drop the exhaust?

All....lol....no really, maybe 29 or 30 at cold but doesn't move with engine rev and is virtually the same from cold to hot

Before you start pulling the engine apart, you may wish to have a shop do an external pressure reading and/or change your oil pressure sensor for about $25.00. That gauge has to move with RPM.

Does it go to zero when you shut it off ?

yes it does go to zero.... when I rev it up a bit and hold it around 2k RPM, I can here lifters asking for more oil.
