Well, if you have to ask, you probably aren't fully ready to do the task quickly. It took me months to do mine, but it was kinda rusty and hard to get apart. If yours is fairly clean and the bolts actually turn you might get it done fairly quickly. Good luck though, you'll need it. There are some tricky spots that may get you beating your head against the wall for a few days as you try to drop the pumpkin out or remove the shock mount. But it shouldn't be too bad. You might want to have the trailing arms rebuilt with new bearings while they are off as well. If everything comes apart easily you can have it dissassembled in a day. That is rarely the case, however.

It won't be done in a weekend that is for sure. Leave yourself plenty of time for the unexpected things you will encounter.

I haven't done gears - I guess I'm not much help here...

The susp bushings are easy and quick to replace, except the TA bushings... in worst case (like mine) the TA bolts, sleeves and shims are all rusted to one one chunk of rust.... First I tried penetrating oil and actually was successful removing the shims on the drivers side, then I couldn't get the bolt out (rust, rust, rust) ... finally I bought a reciprecating saw and cut right through the shims and bolts to get the arms removed... quick and easy...

I've seen both extremes:
75 - rusted to hell. The trailing arms are still in there, as it became
a donor car.
70 - all bolts came out clean ... would have been a 1 day job.

I wish you good luck ... and post a new thread when you run into problems.

Check some of my previous posts and you might get an idea. Like I told someone else, it isn't all that complicated, just time consuming and expensive. I can't imagine what a shop would charge to do this job. Maybe someone can tell me.

mine cost about 2k to do in a shop for labor and parts. i think it was 800 for the labor

parts included ring and pinion, bearings, seals, strut rods, stub axles, u-joints, bushings, spindle support, lube and posi, and a carrier

i think thats was it

it was worth it
