I bought jet-hot hooker side pipes but I have Sanderson block hugger jet-hot headers. Muffler shop said they cannot hook them up with out it looking like crap. I there a set of side pipes available for a 1980 coupe that would include the U bent to get the pipe under the car. Also I want a set that mounts like the Hookers where they are not underneath the frame. You know even with the rocker pannel. I'm sure some of you guys have done side pipes without buying the whole Hooker set up headers and all. Please help me. Car is at the muffler shop and it's all I lack to get her on the road. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Are they concerned that the carbon steel pipe they put on it will start to rust before too long or do they not think they can mate the headers to the sidepipes ? Maybe they know of a custom shop locally that may be able to handle the task
Well sorry to tell you this but the hookers do in fact run under the frame. But they flaten out all four pipes so you only have a 2" pipe or whatever size they used for your application passing under the frame.
You can get 4" ubends from Sthal Headers and then your muffler shop will need to cut and fit them to go under the rocker panel, you may need to cut some of the rocker away and some of the aluminnum trim peice if you want to maintian good ground clearance. Next they will need to make a reducer to go from the 4" pipe to whatever size pipe they run from your block huggers to your sidepipes. You won't be able to get the look of the twisty pipes like the hookers but it will still look intimidating.
When finished fabbing up the connector pipes you'll have to send them back to jet hot to coat them so they will match your side pipes.

I don't think I've ever seen anyone hook up Sandersons together with the Hooker side mounts. Why not just run the Hookers? Doesn't Sanderson make their own side exhaust too?
Help guy's I know some of you have installed custom side pipes and I need your expertise. The car is at the muffler shop and I need to get it out of his way. I have 1 7/8" Sanderson block headers on my 383 and need a way to pipe to the side pipes and a side pipe selection.
