Default Suggestions for maintenance?

ok, the body is now off the frame and the drivetrain, with the exception of the rear end assembly, is removed as well. The frame has been degreased and essentially stripped. What coating would you coat the frame with? Also, what other maintenance would you perform before the drivetrain goes back in and the body back on??? Diff fluid change? Check u-joints? etc?

Depends on what you want the final product to look like. If you are looking for just a clean looking frame and reuse everything else I would just put a good quality black paint on it. If you are looking to restore everything back to new condition (not NCRS) you could send everything out and have it power coted in a matt finish (looks great). I would replace u-joint, and re-build trailing arms while the body is off. Hope this helps.

While you have easy access there is no reason not to replace all fluids, change rubber bushings, hoses, etc. Check the gas line for rusty parts, it is nearly impossible to replace with the body on. I'd paint the frame with semi gloss black enamel (chassis black). Joe

Some guys use POR-15 and then top coat with gloss or semi gloss.

well, the frame is very nice unrusted condition. Nor looking for a total perfect resto so will probably skip the Por-15 and go with the semi gloss black. The hoses could definetely use being replace but it appears stainless lines have already been put on the brakes. Front end has been totally rebuilt and looks like they used poly's etc. Would you suggest all new u-joints? Thanks and anything else would be great help!
