That's one of the reasons I didn't buy a 68 when I had the oppertunity. Man...one yr only parts availability & price can kill ya. Still LOVE that 68 though!!

You're on the same fence I've been on a few times- originality vs. adequate replacement. I've gone with originality, and have the receipts to show for it
I just ordered a new ammeter and the guage cluster has scratches around the seat belt warning light override button and the upper wiper switch has a crack on the right side where the cluster is weakest. Maybe I'll weld it from the back and paint it.

I just wonder if the new C6 will be a one year only?
i believe the 68's were "real" narrow in the middle as compared to all later C-3's, correct? the true "coke bottle corvette". owners complained the seating area was "too tight" and doors interfered with seating comfort. Chevy widened 69's by at least a couple of inches, i think. forum members comment please.

p/n 06497604 Counter guy indicated there were still some in the system. Got it end of summer, can't remember what I paid exactly but they were due for an increase.
