Default Vette Stats?

Hey All and Merry Christmas,
Back when I first bought my Vette I was told about a link to a website that had all the stats and info about my 79 Vette. I think it was from info gathered through my VIN #. Is this correct?
Does anyone know of any good sites out there that can tell me just what I've got? HP? Transmission? Gear? etc?

;-*

Default Merry Christmas

Hi 79VetteGirl,
Merry Christmas and a happy new year to you and all the other Corvette folk in your neck of the woods. It's warming up down here now that summer has started and it's off to the beach at any opportunity. Also good Corvette cruising weather, don't you wish you were here to enjoy it? To all of you, drive safely and have a pleasant Festive Season.

Regards from Down Under

G'day John!

Well, considering I'm in Phoenix, Arizona, and it's been sunny with average temps in the mid 70's, can't say I'm too jealous. Well, maybe I'm a little jealous of the beach part, but the coast is only six hours away with the t-tops off, so I'll live.

Take care John

I know what the weather is like in Sweetwater. I drove my 79 yesterday and I think I will get it out again today. If your vette is a stock automatic it is probably 195 H.P. with a TH350 tranny and a 3:55 rear end. I need to be doing some work to mine right now but the roads are dry and I'm going to circle Knoxville a couple of laps just for the heck of it! Do you belong to the vette club in Knox? Been meaning to go to a meeting but keep missing it. I see some posts from others in the area and thought that would be a good place to meet them. Merry Christmas!

Go to the National Corvette Museum website and download "Vetteset". It is a program that shows all the RPO codes and available options for most if not all of the years (yes, it has '79).

Here is the link:

Very COOL

If you have an L82, I compiled the specs on the L82 engine. I can post them if that is what you have.

Default G'day

G'day Dan,
Thanks for your good wishes. I've been to Arizona a couple of times, the latest in June last year on the Birthday run to Nashville. The first time was in Jan/Feb 1983 when I visited the Grand Canyon and I know what a northern Arizona winter is like. Hey, it never snows here in Melbourne, even on the coldest winter day, while in summer it can get to over 40 C. Today it's a mild mid twenties (C!) and I've got to leave for work in an hour. Once more, another summer has started and the Corvette isn't finished again, but hopefully, it's only a month or two away from being finished. I'll post pictures when it's on the road.
Keep well and have a Merry Christmas.

Regards from Down Under

Thanks guys, There's a lot of very good info on these sites. From what I can tell.....with my title and all this info.....I have a L48. Everything is original and stock so it should follow right with these numbers. The numbers I have found (on the block, etc.) match according to the way they say they should read. I'm not sure if this means anything to anyone else or not but just for my own personal satsifaction......it does.
So thanks for all the help.
BTW.....Aussie......you know I'd rather be there........in the summer time or winter time. ;-)
