Hi
I was a member here years ago as MAC74 but I forgot my password and I have a new e-mail addy so I cant retrieve it...LOL
Im replacing my trailing arms on my 74 and I cant seem to figure out how to get the bolts out that connect the trailing arms to the frame. This may seem like a stupid question but can I do this with out taking the body off the frame?
If you get one of those long needle nose pilers from Sears or a swap meet, you can guide in the bolt with that. I also used dental floss to pull it through. Use "never-seize" on the bolts so they rust up in the future for the next tiem you remove the arms!

Oops misread your question. Once you go to install them you can follow that A sawzall with 9" blades or a oxy/ace torch but be very careful, gas line os on the right side of the frame and 'glass catches quick. This is the hardest part of rebuilding the arms!
If they are rusty like mine were they will have to be cut to get them out. As stated above they can be threaded through with the body on it's just a real pain. Think I used fishing line to snake mine through with a lot of anti-seize after replacing the bushings. Hope this helps.
These bolts are very likely rusted to the inner sleeve and very likely they do not move.... When I did mine, I could not even get the alignment shims out, everything was rusted to one piece of rust...
The easiest method is to get a reciprecating saw and cut right through the shims and bolt.... these are being replaced anyway...
