Hey guys, all the vettes are cool, if for no other reason than they are a vette. Don't get too jacked over Gene's comment, he probably has time on his hands and wanted to get a 12 page thread going. He does this now and then on the HP of motors BB vs SB VS crate ###, when things get slow here. So have a happy holiday season.
Frankenvette,
It gets better. Guess what's under the hood?
Paul,
Now you are just making me down right jealous. Seriously, that is a beautiful engine and bay. For now I have to live with my tired 350. Like the old Datsun 280z commerical with the young kid looking at the car goes....someday! When I watched the vette commercial you posted, I thought of that old Nissan commercial.
Everything I have always read said '68s were considered the worst quality Vettes of all time. That does not speak to its performance, etc., just that the assembly was of very low quality.
I REALLY don't want to **** anyone off, but in fact the only Corvettes are convertibles, and when it comes to that plainly FUGLY 'fastback' style that Mopars championed at the time, I find the Vettes doing that style are plain ugly....it's a grafting on a Vette of some other body style best pulled on in a larger car,.....operating or fixed, those large rear windows look stupid...period....now having said that, the extra fuel tank capacity would be welcome, and I"m working on that....
GENE
dude you are so far off here. look at that fast back, and look at a 67'. its almost the same. and these cars are beloved. go enjoy a few cold malted beverages, so as to relax that stick youve got up there, and look again! i think its the ultimate body style.
