Don't know where you'll find enough room. I'm trying to locate my vacuum tank, looks like it will go back in the fender well.

I would think space and the heat would be reasons to keep it out of the engine bay.

whats the reason for moving it? I have heard of alot of people moving batteries to the trunk/behind driver in other cars, this is a first wanting to move it under the hood.

I am not sure that there is enough room in the engine bay to move the battery there. One place that it might fit would be on cars without A/C. The space between the radiator and the motor on the passenger side would then give you the most room.

What is the reason for wanting to move the battery to the front. I think that having it in the compartment behind the drivers seat is one of the unique things of the C3s.

Yeah. Moving the battery into right rear of the trunk has some small benefits in drag racing if you have a metal car. But moving it under the hood? Maybe he wants some more storage in the back of his 'Vette or something.

thanks to all for your replies. moving the battery was a suggested to possibly make room for a set of 10" subs without losing to much space in the "trunk" area. i haven't had a chance to check out any measurements so i don't know if the subs would even fit there.

btw it is an L48

If you really want to move the battery put a box in behind the rear end. Naturally you'll have to get rid of your spare tire and carrier. GrandSport has his battery under the hood, but his car is like a C4 with C3 styling for the hood. Clearly performance isn't on your mind as stereos add weight. Weight is the enemy.
