Moments like this make it all worth while!!!

OK, here's the OTHER side of the story.....
..... at the end of my neighborhood is a 24-hour CITGO station/convenience store, which I rarely use, as my grand-father had 37 years with Sun Oil Co. (SUNOCO), and I try to use thier products exclusively, but, on-occasion, I will stop-in for a few gallons of gas, a bag of cookies, a Diet Pepsi, etc.
Besides my low-mileage '82 Vette, my other cars included a low-mileage '97 Monte Carlo Torch Red Z34, a Flame Red '91 Sportside used to tow my '79 Red Z28 on my now-infrequent trips to the strip, and my 'daily-driver', a Charcoal Gray '93 Dodge Dynasty.
It seems I'd always get the same kid to wait on me at this store, and he'd always have a T-shirt with a 'car-type' logo on the front, but he NEVER mentioned any of my (usually) spotless cars at the pumps, until when I happened to stop in my filthy Dynasty one day:
the kid went bananas over it!
:confudsed:
He asked me what year it was, which motor it had (like there was a 'good' one offered???), how many miles it had, etc., and said if I ever wanted to sell it, let him know, cause it was JUST what he wanted.....
Last year, I blew several years of dust off the Z28, loaded-up, and made a few test-and-tune sessions at the strip:
after one, I stopped the rig in-front of his store, and ran inside for a quick bottle of Diet Pepsi.
The kid took one look at my 'rig' parked outside, and exclaimed:
"Is that YOUR truck and race-car? I've never seen it before....."
Kinda cocky, I said, "Yeah, just coming home from making a few passes at the strip, why?"
The kid frowned, then asked:
"You didn't sell the Dynasty to buy that race-car, did you???"
The kid frowned, then asked:
"You didn't sell the Dynasty to buy that race-car, did you???"
Oh MAN GLEN! That is rich!
Kids these days! Too much "Fast & Furious" for their own good. It's amazin' how many Hondas, Mitsus and Nissans pass for "awesome rides" these days. The GOOD ones are quite fast and excellent, but like hen's teeth, they're few and far between. Remember guys, no "ricer" is worth losing your license over, racing is best left to the track no matter how tempting it may be. Sheesh, hope I didn't sound too much like a wuss there !

but I though they stopped production in like 88 or so???.....Robert
ps.....not saying your

I'm not a 'Dodge-guy', my dad had a buddy who sold them, he helped-out a few nights a week there in the sales department, and he bought this Dynasty new, which I bought from him to 'save' my Chevrolets from the roads maintained here in Pa. by PENNDOT.
I think '93 was the last Dynasty, which was replaced in the MOPAR line-up by the Intrepid in '94, and is a boxy, 4-door, 6-cylinder 'lump-oid' bereft of styling:
my dad's car had just 28,000 miles on it when I bought it in '01.
All of my other cars (save for my Black '82 Vette) were sporty Red Chevies with aluminum wheels, so I bought a cheap set of 'chrome' twisted-spoke wheel-covers at Wal-Mart:
I think that is why the kid at my local store likes the car so-much.....
My girlfriend says it makes the Dodge look like a " pimp's ride ", and calls me " Pimp-Daddy ":
I tell her to " shut-up, Mama, er I'll drop yo' azz off at de next street-corner...yo' dig? "
