The current model has the twin airscoops like the GTO and the Cooking version from Holden Special Vehicles comes with the LS2 instead of the LS1. Plenty of "room" for tweaking it out to 500HP.
I had a couple of 68 and 69 Monaros when I first started driving back in the 70's. About the size of a Camaro from the period.
Optional was the 327 and 350's out of Vettes. Mine had a warmed over 307 with fuelie heads. Still remember the first test drive after putting them on and powersliding around corners

Ive got a 68 Monaro (my first car) and a 70 454 vette coupe. A mate of mine and his girlfriend had his and hers Monaros when the new ones came out.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!! from sunny Florida.
A Monaro (68) is still on my car wish list.
I have a question for all Aussie Vette Owners regarding my steering. Did any of you convert from LHD Manual Steering to RHD Power Steering?
Reason I ask is I currently have LHD manual steering. I will eventually convert to RHD when I get back to Canberra in OZ but no rush as it the vette is over 30 yrs old. WHen I change I want to go to power steering.
Would it be an advantage to get P/S parts now or is it a complete change to go to RHD anyway?
What parts should I get over here which are diifcult for the RHD mod in Australia?
Thanks,
Pete
You do know you don't have to convert it if you don't want to? Lots of LHD old cars getting around now. Unless you want to use it as a daily driver I would leave it LHD.
If you really want to convert it, the power steering conversion at the same time is the smart way to go. A couple of new hoses, the drag link is the same as an unpowered one, the ram and valve are the same as used on the 65-71 Holden PS system.
Get the parts while you are in the US and you might as well get them fitted at the same time. saves on import duty
I did the Non to PS conversion originally cos I didn't want to have to haul the front end around with a big block no PS.
I now have a power rack in there and it works a treat for me.
Some people are putting in an Early ford or a cressida steering box and using a mirrored drag link. Others use an entire XW-Y setup.
Some of the real old conversions used the LHD box on the outside of the chassis rail but that severely limited the steering lock.
If you have anymore questions feel free to PM or email.
Have a happy new year everyone!
