changing power steering fluid

the fluid from the pump, old fluid is still in the control valve
and in the cylinder. Im thinking there is a way without
having to disconnect every hose to blow the old fluid out.
This tip came from Nov 2004 issue of Auto Restorer magazine.
"Take a finger pump that you find on liquid soap bottles and thoroughly rinse it out so no residue remains. Then take some thin tubing that slips tightly over the pump spout and fit that in place. Lower the pump stem into the reservoir, put the loose end of the tubing in a pail or can, and pump out the excess liquid."
Once you have most of the fluid from the pump reservoir, jack the front wheels off of the ground. Then disconnect the return line from the pump reservoir. Direct the hose into a pail. Now turn the steering wheel lock to lock until you the fluid stops coming out of the hose. You do not want to start the engine without power steering fluid in the pump.
I also suggest refilling the system with genuine GM power steering fluid. Obtain the fluid under this part number 89020661 at any GM dealer.
