I remember once when I asked about the universal aluminum radiators and was told there was no way I could make it work on a C3. Well guess what, where theres a will theres a way I say don't be afraid to try something if you really wnat it and have the means to try and achieve it. I don't know how the STS kit works so I can't comment on that, but I do know there are lots of benefits to be had with a turbo.
Mike could not have said it any better. I agree the most efficient Turbo system involves mounting the Turbo as close to the exhaust port as possible. This is due to hot air has a higher velocity than colder air at the same pressure ratio. Now, that said pressure drives the exhaust turbine not heat. Air pressure is the mechanical means of driving a turbine; hot air just helps this equation. The STS Turbos work and so do the TNT kits on the Viper as well as The Cobra kits for the Mustangs.

Its not rocket science, It’s been done!

I've been working on a kit for about 2 years now and hoping to release it soon. The kit is for Big and Small blocks that will be easy to install (No chopping up your Shark) and will not alter your current accessories. I wanted to get some Dyno data before going into too much detail but I'm hoping for a 200HP improvement for a stock C3/L48 with the basic kit. The higher volumetric efficiency a motor has normally aspirated the better this kit will work. The key to making this work is proper turbine A/R housing sizing and a large Wastegate. Using a smaller housing to spool the compressor will help reduce lag. Also I'm planning on using allot of header wrap to retain as much heat as possible before the turbo. This will also reduce in-car & under-hood temps. The oiling system will employ a self contained tank (Will not Interface with your motor) and pump with an alarm switch referencing oil pressure. Here is a pic of turbo location mounted on Mike’s car just to get intake fitment.

There will be an elbow that puts the filter inside the cavity between the body and gas tank just above the differential. Stage one blow through kits will consist of a Turbo, Bracket, and Oil system and down pipe. The user will need to have the charged air return pluming done locally. They will also need to change a 750cc carburetor with a mechanical secondary that has been modified for blow through applications, IE: Demon or Holley. There are hundreds of companies out there that have done this for the 5.0 Stang Group.
