First off I know I could spend probably 1 1/2 searching and answer these questions but a few quick yes and no answers would be much appreciated.
1. Is '82 the only year that C3's were fuel injected?
2. Did all small block Vette's come with a 5.7?
3. Also how cramped is the engine bay, would there be room for say a pair a turbos?
Well here is what I'm wanting to do. I want to build a twin turbo V8 car and I have decided to either start with a 3rd gen f-body or a C3 vette. I'll be doing all the installation and fabrication myself and just really don't want to have to screw around with a blow-through system and tuning a carb for the turbos. What would you suggest.
If I had my choice I would definatly go with the vette, but if the crossfire injection won't work very well then I guess it's a no go. Is there and way to maybe put a TBI system on a C3 vette? Also any idea what I could expect to pay for a decent running '82, cost will be a factor, and I know it would be alot cheaper to go with a f-body, but the vette looks ten times better.
I drive a '94 Rx-7 now which is lots of fun, I just need something with some torque to drive sometimes, and something for me and my dad to do this summer.
If you're going with twin turbos you should really just go with aftermarket fuel injection. It is really the only logical path with forced induction. I don't think the dual throttle bodies on the Crossfire can squirt enough fuel to feed that much air.

maybe a tpi upgrade and some bigger injectors and a fbody turbo kit.
on top of a holley or whatever TBI injection system. THe holley commander computer can support up to 4 low impedence injectors. which should be good for a pretty healthy engine. But your not gonna have a 1000hp small block.
If you want to run a port fuel injection I would probably go with the accel sequential fire injection. You can make some crazy power with them.
If you have reasonable power goals(600-700hp), like me you could run some old grand national turbos and pick them up fairly cheap.
I'de also look into any year but 80-82 for stronger suspension parts. You can always put the 80-82 bumpers on a different year. Try a 78-79 or any other rubber bumper year.

That is actually exactly what I had in mind with the turbo's, what turbo's are they exactly, t-26's?
As far as power around 600ish would be great, and I would definatley not be daily driving the car. Probably mostly just track use, drive on the weekends kinda thing.
Thanks for the info I guess I just didn't realize there were fuel injection kits out there. Hopefully I'll get everything planned out and start scavenging parts soon.
