I am unsure how acurate that is. It shows my 80 being built on Oct.1, 1979 while other research has shown it built in May of 1980. My vin is 1Z878AS431313. I tend to believe the May build date from other research.

The last car built in May was S/N 431152. Go back and try the calculator again, it showed June 3, 1980 for me . Compare that date to what's on the trim tag on your door post.

On a general note, all C3s have the body build date on the trim tag. This date is usually 0-2 days earlier than the final completion date of the car. No statistical calculator or database that uses any assumptions of production rates or workforce availability is going to be 100% accurate, as stated on the NCRS Wisconsin web site.

This is a good and fun estimate, but the build date on the
body trim tag gives a much more accurate date. Find your
trim tag date and add 1-3 days for completed assembly.

I see where I screwed up. I entered the entire vin instead of the last 5 digits. That is closer. Seems like the door sticker says May as I recall. I will have to check it again when I get a chance.

Hey... that's the date on my trim tag. What serial # is your car?

Juliet and I figured out that our cars were only 13 cars apart on the line. (Ok, I checked the '70 Registry and see that your car is 20 after hers. Maybe our cars all knew each other in St Louis....)

The instructions say use only the last 5 digits. I used your digits and got:
Jun 3 1980

Ruby's birthday is 7/6/76

Mine is a very late build '77. It shows August 2, 1977 for the build date. When did they start '78 production?

Thanks,
Jeff
