After 3 year of use, I've decided that the 2.25" system I had installed has "gotta go". It is not bent correctly in a few places and comes way too close to the floor of the car. The Flowmaster 40's are making me deaf too.
Solution: 2.5" (up from 2.25") tubing from the headers back, H-pipe, and Magnaflow mufflers. Should I get "center in/center out" style mufflers for this? AND: Is 2.5" better, or will I lose torque. I "estimate" my HP to be somewhere around 385-400 with my setup. (355, 10.0-1 compression, TFS heads, CC270, roller rockers, Dynomax headers, TRW forged pistons, MSD box and MSD Billit distributor...etc) Thoughts on tubing size and type of muffler inlet/outlets? Thanks.
For your muffler setup it depends on what type of exhaust tip you are going to use. If you use the stock 72 tips, then I think the exhaust is off center to the opening in the exhaust bezels. That would mean installing a muffler with an offset to fit.
